• Question: Why would you give money to promote engineering

      I think it’s so important to promote engineering because when I was in school I thought if you weren’t a maths genius thers no point in attempting engineering because I wouldn’t be smart enough to complete it. Also when I was in school it was not thought of as a cool thing to do. But from working in the field it’s an amazing job. I get to speak to doctors about the products we develop, whether they improve patient lives or improve the surgery time for a doctor. We get to build mock prototypes of medical devices and test them in mock hearts and blood vessels that were based on real patients scans of their hearts and vessels. Its real life engineering for improved quality of life. It’s potentially your uncle, mother, brother or sister that will benefit from the current developments in medical devices, they will have an improved quality of life with these devices and that’s why I love my job and want to continue to promote engineering as a career.
