A few years ago the toy company Smyths Toys came to me with a problem. They were selling trampolines but the legs were falling off! I worked out what was wrong and helped to redesign the legs so they didn’t break.
I was interviewed on RTE radio telling people all over the country to check the legs on their trampolines!!

My favorite project was working on a student built racing car i worked on during college. It was for a completion call Formula Student, when we designed, built and raced a car with other colleges from around the world at Silverstone in the UK. It was as fast as a racing motorcycle.

I love making things in my own time, outside of work. I’m love sewing and arts & crafts. Once I did an art project out of all recycled metal parts I found at home or on a local building site – I made a small metal man playing a guitar. He had a big curly head of coiled metal hair & even had tiny metal strings on his guitar! I find that there’s a bit more freedom with arts & crafts seen as there’s no calculations involved 😀
