3-D CAD means 3-Dimensional Computer Aided Design. In the past, drawings were done with just pencil & paper (like Tech Drawing). When people started using computers to do drawings, it was still viewed in 2D, flat on the screen like a paper drawing. Modern design uses 3D software. So I can model up the whole tank as a 3D part, twirl it around on my screen, look at it upside down, turn it around to see every side of the tank. Then I can do up drawings by putting in different views of my 3D model. The software we use is called Autodesk Inventor, here’s a short video about it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0U8H0GyTevg
