• Question: is breaking things the best job ?

      Yes and No! It’s great when the things break in the way you expected them to. But when that doesn’t happen it can be very frustrating trying to find out why not. Also, having to clean the lab up after with little bits of wood scattered everywhere can be a bit annoying.

      I agree with Caoimhe: it’s great fun when it works. Who doesn’t like smashing things up?! But also it can be dangerous. I shouldn’t say this but I nearly got covered with boiling water when we tested a central heating system that got over-pressurized and exploded. That taught me to think more about what can go wrong with an experiment and take safety precautions.
